Self Destruct Notes

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Self Destruct Notes?

Self Destruct Notes is a privacy-focused platform that lets you send encrypted, one-time notes that automatically delete themselves after being read or after a chosen time. No accounts, no tracking - just simple, secure sharing.

2. How does it work?

When you create a note, it’s encrypted locally in your browser before being sent. The note can only be decrypted by the recipient using the unique link you share. Once it’s viewed or the timer expires, it’s permanently deleted.

3. Do you store my notes or data?

No. We never store the unencrypted content of your notes, your passwords, or your encryption keys. Notes exist only in encrypted form until they self-destruct - and once deleted, they’re gone forever.

4. Can I choose how long a note stays active?

Yes. You can set your note to self-destruct after a specific amount of time - for example, 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days, or 30 days - or immediately after it’s opened once.

5. Do I need an account to use it?

No account or registration is required. You can create and send notes instantly without sharing any personal information.

6. Can Self Destruct Notes read my messages?

No. All notes are end-to-end encrypted in your browser before leaving your device. We never have access to the encryption keys - meaning even we can’t read your content.

7. Is it safe to share passwords or private information?

Yes - that’s exactly what Self Destruct Notes was built for. Strong encryption and automatic deletion ensure your sensitive information stays private and disappears once read.

8. What happens if the recipient doesn’t open the note?

If the note isn’t opened before it expires, it will automatically self-destruct - unread and unrecoverable.

9. Can deleted notes be recovered?

No. Once a note self-destructs, it’s permanently deleted from our servers and cannot be restored.

10. Is there any tracking or analytics?

No. We don’t use cookies, trackers, or analytics that could compromise your privacy. Your use of the site is completely anonymous.

11. Who created Self Destruct Notes?

Self Destruct Notes was created by a small team that values digital privacy, simplicity, and trust. Our mission is to make secure communication as easy as sending a regular message - but infinitely safer.
